Thirteen women have been injured from a wasp attack in Campion estate in Bogawanthalawa.

They are being treated at Bogawanthalawa hospital.

The insects have attacked the tea pluckers when a wasp nest laid on a tea bush was mistakenly broken by one of the pluckers.

Hospital sources say that the conditions of the injured women are rather critical.

Meanwhile, six other women were also attacked by wasp while plucking tea in Curcauswall estate.

Three of them have been discharged while the other three are also receiving medical treatments at Bogawanthalawa hospital.
