A suspect identified as Yasmin Ilfamy Mohammad on her return to the country after seven years, having skipped out after allegedly misappropriating a sum of Rs 4.3 million belonging to depositors of the Finance and Guarantee, which is affiliated to the Ceylinco Group, was nabbed by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the BIA yesterday (25).

The suspect was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court by the CID yesterday.

The CID informed Court that when there was a foreign travel ban imposed on her, she had emplaned to Abu Dhabi in the UAE. The CID also told Court that along with Sicille Kotelawala, the wife of former Ceylinco Chairman Lalith Kotelawala, Yasmin Ilfamy Mohammad was the eighth suspect charged in the Golden Key Credit Card Company case.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate ordered the suspect to be released on bail in Rs 50,000 cash and four sureties of Rs 5 million each and imposed a foreign travel ban on her.

The CID did not object to the suspect being granted bail by the Magistrate.
