The body found in an abandoned well in Batapola Ambalangoda has been identified as the fiancé of the girl who died following being hit by train a few days ago.

Meetiyagoda police said that the parents of the deceased have identified the body.  The parents had apparently lodged a missing person’s report with the police claiming that their son had disappeared on July 23rd.

The victim has been identified as 18-year old Sankalpa Prabhath Maduranga of Kobe-tuduwa.

Police also said that investigations are being carried out to determine if the death of the youth was suicide or a homicide.

Meanwhile the brother of the deceased school girl claims that the youth had an altercation with his sister near the railway track in Ambalangoda and that she was pushed onto the railway tracks in front of an approaching train.
