Over 100 migrants including Sri Lankans have been stranded in the United Arab Emirates with expired work permits, no pay and limited food, water and sanitation.
The Reuters reported, in addition to Sri Lankan nationals, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Indian nationals were also among those stranded.
The group is urging the relevant authorities to aid in returning them to their own countries.
The group charged that their employment contracts, visas, labour cards and resident identity cards have expired but their sponsor has not renewed them which have forced the employees to work without wages.
The spokesman of the Foreign Employment Bureau said the group of migrants includes 12 Sri Lankans.
