The Court of Appeal yesterday (25) further extended the interim order for October 26 directing the Controller of Immigration and Emigration to prevent LTTE’s former leader of the International Wing Shanmugam Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP from leaving the country.

The Court of Appeal (President) Justice Vijith Malalgoda and Justice S.C.J Madawala made this order consequent to a writ petition filed by Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) parliamentarian Vijitha Herath who sought an order to institute legal proceedings against KP who was appointed as LTTE leader in 2009.

The lawyer who appeared on behalf of the petitioner sought a further date informing Court that his senior counsel was not present in Court since he is attending another Court case.

The petition will be taken up for support on October 25.
