Sri Lanka Communist Party has decided not to take part in the march organized by the Joint Opposition on the 28th of this month.
Releasing a communiqué, General Secretary of the party DEW Gunasekara noted that the decision was taken by the party, as they could not agree to certain slogans of the march.
In his communiqué, DEW Gunasekara citing an example noted that they would not agree to slogans such as ‘Constitution is a fatal trap’, as the party will constantly support a new constitution.
He further noted that, based on the political state of affairs and the guidance of 20th National Convention of the party, it has decided not to participate in the march.
