The Court of Appeal took up the writ petition filed against MP Geetha Kumarasinghe yesterday.
It was taken up before Court of Appeal (President) Justice Vijith K.Malalgoda and panel.
The writ petition challenged the constitutionality of electing MP Kumarasinghe when she held a dual citizenship.
It was argued that MP Kumarasinghe has failed to show a certificate from Switzerland authorities to confirm the fact that she has abandoned her Swiss citizenship
If she held a dual citizenship she is not qualified to be elected as a MP.
The Appeal Court that considering the case schedule the next hearing for October 24.
