Minister of Law and Peace and Southern Development Sagala Ratnayaka says that he is committed to protect democracy in the country as promised to the people.

Issuing a communiqué the Minister said that a protest march carried out by a certain group was not a problem for the Government and that maximum security would be provided for it.

Minister Sagala Ratnayake said however that while there was zero tolerance for any protest or opponent breaking the law of the land, the Government would be keen to consolidate democracy, committed to protect the supremacy of law.
