Former Pakistani Human Rights Minister Ansaar Berni says that he was ready to give all the support necessary for obtaining the release of the Sri Lankan arrested in connection with an attempt to assassinate the Maldivian President.
The former Pakistani Minister said so when meeting yesterday the relatives of the family of the Sri Lankan arrested in the Maldives.
Maldivian Media had reported that a Sri Lankan sniper had been arrested on 24th October 2015 on suspicion in connection with a conspiracy to assassinate Maldivian President Yamin Abdul Gayoom.
Later the suspect was identified as Lahiru Madhusanka, a resident of Malabe.
It has also been possible to obtain the support of International Human Rights Activists for obtaining the release of Lahiru Madhusanka who has been imprisoned in the Maldives close to a year.
