The ‘Jana Satana Pada Yatra’ organized by the Joint Opposition commenced its 4th day today from Nittambuwa, and proceeded forward, passing the Horagolla Bandaranaike Monument.

Security around Monument was bolstered today, following a request made by former President Chandrika Kumaranatunga.

However, according to our correspondent, the participants of the protest march removed their caps, lowered flags and stopped chanting slogans while passing the Monument.

Reports also indicated that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa did not join the protest march at this stage.

The destination of the march for the day will be Kiribathgoda town.
