Indian delegation to arrive to discuss regarding ETCA

An Indian delegation is due to arrive in the island on the 9th of August for discussions on the Economic and Technological Cooperation Agreement Sri Lanka and India are planning to sign later this year.

The delegation led by Bhupinder Bhalla, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India will comprise officials from several concerned departments.

A Sri Lankan delegation will also visit India for a second round of negotiations in New Delhi to be followed by a final round in Colombo.

It is believed that Sri Lanka and India have decided to finalise ETCA soon and signed before Deepawali.
