Eight people are dead and around 20 are trapped in a three-floor building collapse in Bhiwandi near Mumbai, India on Sunday (31) morning.
Police and fire officials managed to rescue 27 people, Indian media reported.
The Kabir building, situated in Garibi Nagar area in Bhiwandi, was said to be in poor condition. At around 9.15 AM, it came crashing down all of a sudden.
Bhiwandi Nizampura municipal corporation officials said the building was on the 'dangerous' list and a notice had also been issued to the concerned authorities.
Indian National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel has reached the spot to join the rescue operation, reportedly.
