The Court of Appeal will today (02nd) hear a petition filed by two students of the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine Limited seeking an order against the decision of the Sri Lanka Medical Council to refuse registration as medical practitioners for the two students.

Several parties including the Government Medical Officers Association have been named as respondents in the case.

Accordingly, the GMOA and other respondents will file their respective submissions today.

Meanwhile, a group of medical students from state universities have decided to launch a protest against the operation of private medical institutes in the country.
