Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has met with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Jawad Al-Anani.
The discussion took place on the sidelines of the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum.
The Premier had expressed his support to Sri Lanka in order to become a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Dr. Al-Anani had emphasised that he would provide his full support to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Jordan.
In the meantime, the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe during his visit to Jakarta, Indonesia engaged in discussions with Malaysia’s Prime Minister Dato’Sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak.
Sri Lanka’s new economic policies and investment opportunities were discussed in length.
Premier Razak had provided detail information regarding the State and Economic Transformation Programmes, which commenced in Malaysia.
Tajikistan and Sri Lanka have agreed to forge more ties to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday engaged in discussions with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon on the sidelines of the World Islamic Economic Forum.
The Premier stressed that the Sri Lankan government maintains a friendly approach and policy with all countries.
This is the first time a Sri Lankan Prime Minister is participating in the forum.
