Former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Anura Senanayake and former Crimes Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera were re-remanded till August 10, by the Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris this morning (03).

The two are held in connection with the Wasim Thajudeen murder, and are accused of concealing information relating to the case.

Thajudeen died in on May 17, 2012 in what was initially purported to be a car crash. Evidence later emerged to support the theory that the former Havelocks SC skipper and national rugby player was murdered.
