President requests Jaffna University students to return to studies as security is tightened

President Maithripala Sirisena has requested Jaffna University students to continue their studies without anxiety or suspicion as the security and safety at the university has been assured.

The President made this request when he met the Vice Chancellor and the academic staff along with a group of parents of the students at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.

At the meeting the President said Police and security forces have been instructed to act sensitively in matters pertaining to students and the government is committed to increasing security to ensure the safety of the students.
