The Ministry of Health has taken measures to probe into institutes that manufacture Ayurvedic products containing alcohol more than acceptable limit.
According to a research conducted by Bandaranaike Memorial Ayurveda Research Institute, certain Ayurvedic products have exceeded the approved 4 point 5 percent alcohol level.
Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne has appointed a committee to probe into the matter.
Accordingly, Commissioner of Ayurveda L.K. Thilakaratne noted that the committee is carrying out raids on Ayurveda drug manufacturing facilities island wide.
