Indian Police arrested 200 individuals who staged a protest near Sri Lanka’s Deputy High commissioner’s office in Chennai, India.

The protest was organized yesterday by a Tamil Nadu party known as Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, charging that a group of LTTE cadres taken into custody by the Sri Lankan army during the final stage of the war, have died in a suspicious manner.

Indian media further reported that the group of protestors demanded to conduct an investigation into the matter.

Reports also indicated that about 200 persons were arrested when they attempted to forcibly enter the Deputy Higher Commissioner’s office.
