The Special Investigation Unit of Customs sealed a popular garment shop in Pettah for selling clothes that were illegally imported to Sri Lanka, yesterday.

It was reported that the shop was raided following the advice of Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.

The shop owner has failed to provide documents to show how the clothes were imported.

As a result of illegal importation of garments the country is losing billions of rupees annually.
