Report to CID on elephants and tuskers held in captivity without license
The Collective for protecting wild elephants handed over a report to the CID today.
The report consisted of a list of elephants held in captivity, without proper licence or with faulty license.
After handing over the report, Attorney-at-law Isuru Abeywickrama told our news team that they have requested the CID to conduct an investigation into the matter, based on the information provided in the relevant report.
The report submitted by the Collective for protecting wild elephants include details of, Raja tusker of Kelaniya temple, Malee Tusker from Aranayake – Mawanella, Nilame elephant from Kandalama and Meerigama, Eka-dantha tusker from Heiyanthuduwa, Molagoda Tusker from Kegalle, Molagoda Small Tusker
Galkulama elephant from Molagoda, Kottawa elephant from Molagoda
Mudunkoth tusker from Mudunkoth timber mill and Tusker from Kirillawala stone mill in Kadawatha.
