JVP charges that Joint Opposition snatched the opportunity to take the Bill for establishing Office for Missing Persons for debate
The JVP says that it will support the Office of the Missing Persons Act as a policy.
Addressing a media conference held today at the JVP headquarters, MP Bimal Rathnayake said the decision was taken in an effort to bring some relief to its party members who disappeared since 1971.
Elaborating further he also stated that the opportunity to take the bill up for debate and enlighten the masses was lost, due to the intervention of the Rajapaksa clan and the Joint Opposition.
JVP MP and COPE Chairman Sunil Handunnetti was also present at this media conference.
