Police investigations looking into the death of former Supreme Court Judge Sarath Abrew revealed that the former judge was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident where he fell from the second floor of his residence.
The post mortem was held at Kalubowila hospital this morning.
Police took statements from those residing at his residence, as well as neighbours.
Police also said that a statement was obtained from a monk in Katubedda who was treating the former judge’s daughter for a health issue.
Police recovered an opened bottle of liquor and several cigarettes on the upper floor, at the site from where the former judge is believed to have fallen.
