Joint Opposition MP S.M. Chandrasena says that former president Mahinda Rajapaksa may not participate in the 65th SLFP anniversary to be held in Kurunegala.

However SLFP senior vice president minister W.D.J. Seneviratne stated yesterday that former president Rajapaksa enthusiastically accepted the invitation.

However Chandrasena said that the former president may not participate in the event as he is scheduled to engage in a foreign visit.

Former President Rajapaksa had a discussion with several senior members of the Joint Opposition at his Mirihana residence last night.

It is reported that the recently passed Act of the Missing persons office was discussed in length during the meeting and the participants have drawn their attention to stage protests against the Act.

A Joint Opposition MP told our news team that the removal of Joint Opposition MPs from their electoral organizing positions was also discussed in depth.
