Former Colombo Judicial medical officer seeks court intervention to prevent his arrest with regard to Thajudeen’s murder

Former Judicial Medial Officer of Colombo and Vice Chancellor of Malabe Private Medical College Dr. Ananda Samarasekera ,who performed the first post mortem for Wasim Thajudeen filed an anticipatory bail application with the Supreme Court today.

Dr. Samarasekera stated in his motion that his arrest is imminent and therefore appealed to the Supreme Court to prevent the arrest from taking place.

The Health Ministry has submitted a special report to the magistrate when the Case in connection with the murder of Thajudeen murder was called before Court recently.

The report stated that Dr. Ananda Samarasekera was negligent in performing the autopsy.

The report further stated that several parts of the body were misplaced due to negligence of the Judicial Medical Officer, therefore he should be held responsible.
