Grade 5 Scholarship examination at 2,959 Centres tomorrow; Parents not allowed entry
The Year 5 Scholarship Examination will be held tomorrow at 2959 centres island-wide.
According to the Examination Department 350,701 applicants will be sitting for this year’s examination, where 401 among them are applicants with special needs.
28,000 officials have been deployed to carry out administrative activities of the examination.
In addition, officers of the Examination Department and provincial councils have been deployed for supervision at the relevant examination centres and coordinating centres.
The examination commences at 9.30 tomorrow morning, and the invigilators have been directed to ensure all applicants remain seated at 9 AM tomorrow.
Releasing a communiqué, Commissioner General of Examinations W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara requested the applicants to arrive at their respective examination centres early.
The first question paper of the Year 5 Scholarship exam will be limited to 45 minutes, whereas the 1 hour and 15 minutes long second question paper is scheduled to be held from 10.45 AM to 12 noon.
The Commissioner General of Examination further noted that parents are not allowed to enter the examination centres, even during the interval.
Therefore, parents have been advised to provide their children with a snack and a bottle of water.
Meanwhile, the emergency hotline number 1911 will be available 24 hours for the public to make their complaints with regard to the scholarship exam.
