SLFP stated that the removal of MP Bandula Gunawardena from his party Organizer Position, was delayed.

Expressing his views to the media in Jaffna today, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that MP Gunawardena is considered as one of the weakest organizers of the SLFP.

The party’s Treasurer, Minister S.B. Dissanayake noted that, even if MP Bandula Gunawardena did not resign from his post, it was inevitable that the party would remove him from the position.

The ministers noted these views, in response to the statement made by MP Bandula Gunawardena, saying that he has decide to resign from the Homagama SLFP Organizer post.

While participating in an inspection tour at the construction site of the Green University at Pitipana in Homagama, MP Bandula Gunawardena stated that he has taken the decision to resign from the post as he was unable to add value to the people during his tenure, and for the fact that he is constantly being attacked by his opponents.

However, General Secretary of UPFA Minister Mahinda Amaraweera noted that they are relieved of the decision taken by MP Gunawardena himself, to resign from the post.
