Speaker has signed the Office of Missing Persons Act

The Speaker signed the Missing Persons Office Act this morning which was recently passed in parliament.

Parliament Deputy Secretary General Neil Iddawala stated the speaker will make an official announcement giving notice with regard to the signing if the document when the house meets this afternoon.

The Act of Missing Persons Office was passed unanimously with amendments on August 11.

Meanwhile, the speaker also signed to the amended Act of Financial Management which was passed in parliament recently.

According to the law of the land, Draft Bills that are passed in parliament only become law following the speaker signing off on such documents.
