Opposition charges that amendments dropped from the Bill on Missing Persons’ Office

Chief Opposition Whip Anura Kumara Dissanayake told parliament today that the amendments proposed by the JVP and the TNA have not been included in the Draft Bill to establish Missing Persons’ Office before it was passed.

Meanwhile, the Speaker informed the house that he has signed the Act of Missing Persons Office today.

Several parliamentarians also intervened and expressed their views, after MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake pointed out the overlooking of their proposals in the new Act.
