Eight people, including three women, were arrested for begging in Anuradhapura disturbing pilgrims.

The arrest was made following a complaint by a pilgrim.

Suspects were aged between 55- 75 years and residents of Boralesgamuwa, Katugasthota, Rambukkana, Ibbagamuwa, Ahangama, Borella, Kadawatha and Nochchiyagama areas.
