Cabinet approves to limit import of asbestos

The Cabinet has decided to limit manufacture and import of asbestos and asbestos related products with effect from 2018.

Cabinet spokesman minister Gayantha Karunathilaka announced this during the media briefing held to inform Cabinet decisions this morning.

The decision was taken after WHO declared asbestos as a carcinogen.
