Police has launched an investigation into the disappearance of an 11-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl from Uppuweli area in Trincomalee.

Parents had lodged a complaint at the police when the children did not return home from an extracurricular class.

Five police teams were deployed in search for the missing children.
