Selling of nonstandard plugs and sockets outlets will be banned after the 16th of August year 2018, Public Utilities Commission says.

The government has decided that the type G plug and socket outlet, widely known as the 13 ampere plug and socket outlet or square pin plug is to be the only national standard allowed in Sri Lanka.
