A group of persons who lost property in the Kosgama Salava military camp  explosion have submitted a petition to the Human Rights Commission saying that justice is yet to be served.

As a result of the armory explosion on June 5th, surrounding houses and businesses around the camp, including 300 houses in 10 Grama Niladhari areas were partly or fully destroyed

Those who lost property charged that although the Government paid compensation to some affected parties, the compensation allocated was not sufficient.

The group staged protests on several occasions making these allegations known.

The complaint was to the Human Rights Commission yesterday alleging that to date they have not received fair compensation.
