National Dengue Prevention Week commences today

The national dengue prevention week will commence today (27).

Police, STF, officials of the three forces and health officials will be deployed to raid for dengue breeding places.

The raids will be conducted in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Kandy, Ratnapura, Batticaloa and Jaffna.

Ministry of Health stated that the programme will be held in all schools island wide on September 28 and 29.

A total of 65 deaths due to dengue fever were recorded this year, while the total number of patients were 40, 361. This was 11,000 more than last year.
