A petition to Bribery Commission against its own Director General
A petition was filed with the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption against its Director General Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe today.
The petition has been filed by an attorney-at-law.
In his petition, the attorney-at-law stated that the Director General of the Bribery Commission has evaded inquiring another complaint made to the Commission against several parliamentarians.
It says the particular parliamentarians have imported duty free vehicles and abused state funds by selling them to outsiders.
Hence, the petitioner stated that the Bribery Commission’s Director General has neglected to investigate the complaint against the MPs and thereby committed an offence of corruption.
The attorney-at-law who filed this petition has asked the chairman of the Bribery Commission to suspend the Director General of the Bribery Commission from her duty until the hearing of his petition is completed.
