President holds bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister

President Maithripala Sirisena met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the BRICS Outreach Summit in Goa, India this morning.

The President is attending the event upon a special invitation extended by the Indian Prime Minister.

BRICS is an international relations conference attended by the heads of state or heads of government of the five member states Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

According to the President’s Media Unit, President Sirisena is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with several Heads of State on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC summit.
