Government is silent over the resignation of Bribery Commission Director General

The Government has not issued any official statement with regard to the resignation by Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe so far.

However, the President’s Media Unit confirmed that the Secretary to the President has received the resignation letter by the Bribery and Corruption Commission chief.

Meanwhile, a Cabinet meeting is scheduled to be held with the patronage of the President today.

President Counsel Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe was appointed to the post of Director General of the Commission to investigate allegations of bribery or corruption in February 2015.
