Minister of Wildlife and Sustainable Development Gamini Jayawickrama Perera said that elephants will be given to Kataragama Devalaya following the cabinet approval.

Responding to allegations made by Kataragama Devalaya Custodian D.P. Kumarage, Minister Perera explained the measures being taken to provide elephants to the Devalaya.

Addressing a media conference held yesterday, Kumarage said that the organizers are compelled to use just one elephant as part of the Perahera this year.
