PM Ranil Wickremesinghe meets leading gem entrepreneurs in Belgium
Leading Gem entrepreneurs in Belgium have extended their willingness to purchase more Sri Lankan gems.
The Prime Minister’s Media Unit noted that the Belgian entrepreneurs have agreed on the matter, after meeting Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinehe, who is on a four day official visit in Belgium.
They have also agreed to create a niche for the Sri Lankan gems to be sold in the Belgian market.
The Premier who is on an official visit in Belgium also engaged in an inspection tour at Antwerp Diamond Pavilion an exhibition centre for cutting and exhibiting diamonds.
Currently gems imported from Sri Lanka are used to make the diamond accessory called, Peacock, produced in Belgium.
In addition, the Prime Minister and the delegation have drawn attention to the operations taking place at Antwerp Port, the 2nd largest port in Europe.
