4 officers including the Acting OIC of Dankotuwa Police have been transferred for not arresting a group of suspects who were mining sand illegally in Ma-Oya.

DIG of Puttalam Champika Ranawaka received a tip off saying that a group of persons are engaged in illegal sand mining at Ma-Oya in Jagurawala, Dankotuwa.

Accordingly, a team of police officers from Dankotuwa Police were sent to the scene, however, the officers did not make any arrests and only seized a portion of illegally mined sand.
