President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed the Attorney General to expedite the post-mortem report of the two university students who were killed in Kokkuvil, Jaffna on 21st October.
The President said that action would be taken to grant compensation to the families of the students concerned, after the report is received.
Jaffna University Vice Chancellor, lecturers and student representatives met the President yesterday and held a discussion regarding the murders.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and minister of Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs D. M. Swaminathan also participated in the discussion.
On this occasion the student representatives requested that the President have the post-mortem report issued without delay.
