The met department states that the depression in the Central Bay of Bengal is now located about 1200 km to the Northeast of Sri Lanka.

There is no direct effect on Sri Lanka.

However showers or thundershowers at times and cloudy skies can be expected to continue at most parts of the island.

Heavy falls about 100 mili meters can be expected at some places, particularly in the Southern, Central, Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces until 07th of November.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Southern, Central, Western, North-western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Mannar district.

Duty Meteorologist Srimal Herath requests the General public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
