Police launched a special raid at the Peliyagoda Fish Market this morning to find fish that were caught illegally.

Officers attached to the police stations of Peliyagoda, Ragama, Kelaniya and Kiribathgoda participated in the raid.

Our correspondent stated that STF, NARA and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Ministry officials have also joined the raid group.

Samples of fish suspected to have been caught using dynamite have been collected during the raid. 

NARA spokesman stated that the samples will be tested and the report will be submitted to Courts.
