Tissa Attanayake files a revision petition

Former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake filed a revised petition with the Appeal Court toady requesting to revoke the order issued by the Colombo High Court that rejected him bail.

Attanayake, in his revised petition has requested the Appeal Court to release him under any available bail.

Tissa Attanayake is in remand under three charges including preparing forged documents.  

Meanwhile, Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya temporarily lifted the overseas travel ban on former minister Johnston Fernando.

Accordingly, Johnston Fernando will be able to travel to Singapore between November 14 and 18.

The former minister was banned from leaving the country in connection with a Case filed against him by the Bribery Commission.

Fernando sought Court permission to travel to Singapore to seek medical care for his wife.
