Atmospheric disturbance in the Bay of Bengal still persisting to the southeast of Sri Lanka would cause more rains today, the Department of Meteorology says.

Under the influence of the above system cloudy skies and showery conditions are expected to enhance during next few days, particularly in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western, Eastern and Uva provinces, it stated.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly after 2.00 p.m.

Heavy falls (about 100mm) can be expected at some places, particularly in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern, Southern and Uva provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the morning.
