Four masked men who robbed cash and gold jewellery from the residence of a local businessman have been arrested.
The suspects are believed to be members of notorious AAVA group.
Police said the men had stolen nearly 3.7 million rupees worth of gold jewellery from houses in Mannar and Vavuniya.
Police have seized two grenades and a cache of sharp objects believed to have been used by robbers to threaten the victims.
A three wheeler used by the suspects has also been taken into police custody.
The 11 members connected to AAVA group arrested on previous occasions have been remanded until November 30th.
