The highest rainfall of 104 mm during a lapse of 24 hours ending at 8.30 AM this morning, was recorded from Nagadeepa area in Jaffna. 

MET department stated that thundershowers were reported from Western and Central provinces as well as from Batticaloa district.

The department furthermore stated that thundershowers can be expected in several provinces tonight as well.
