Fine increased for buses operating without a NTC permit

The fine imposed on buses without permits from the National Transport Commission has been increased to 200 thousand rupees.

Speaking at a press briefing held at the Department of Government Information today, co-cabinet spokesman,  Minister Gayantha Karunathilake stated that the matter was approved by the cabinet.  

Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka also said that Cabinet has approved to initiate a public dialogue in order to set up an independent media regulatory commission.

Journalists queried about the charges made against judges by certain websites and social media.
