Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera noted that drafting of the constitution under the national government consisting of both the country’s main parties, should be expedited.

The most venerable Thera expressed these views when a delegation from the SLFP visited to explain their stance on the constitutional amendment procedure.

Many senior members of the SLFP including ministers Nimal Siripala de Silva, Duminda Dissanayake, S.B.Dissanayaka, Susil Premajayantha and Mahinda Amaraweera participated in the occasion.

Our correspondents stated that the delegation met the chief prelate at the temple of the tooth relic premises.

While minister Nimal Siripala de Silva was explaining the chief prelate about the constitutional amendments, ministers S.B. Dissanayake, Duminda Dissanayake and Mahinda Amaraweera also contributed to the discussion.

Afterwards, speaking to media, minister Nimal Siripala de Silva responded to questions raised by journalists on presenting a supplementary estimate for 790 million rupees for purchasing vehicles, in the following manner.
