Malwathu Chief Prelate expresses regrets that laborers are forgotten by certain individuals after coming into power

The Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera says it is regrettable that many politicians, who are supposed to be representing laborers, are forgetting their voters after coming into power.

The Nayake Thera stated this when a group of labor officers paid a courtesy call to hand over a letter. 

Later addressing the media, Chairman of the State Service Labour officers Association I.C. Gamage stated that his organization will go before the intentional tribunal of the Labour Organization.

State Service Labour officers Association has been engaged in a strike since November 2 on several demands including an increase in salaries.

However, Commissioner General of Labour M.D. Chandani Amaratunga stated in a communiqué that the new service constitution of the striking Labour officers was completed and has been sent to the Commission of Salary and Statistics for approval.

She stated in her communiqué, that therefore the current strike by labor officers is unfair.
